Description
G& J Reeves and Black Prince are two well known and respected names in the inland waterways industry with Reeves enjoying a reputation as builders of fine narrowboat shells.

Ex hire boats are always sought after, especially for family and friends ownership, as they are suited to group holidays more than residential use. Umbrellas is typical of such craft, providing adaptable accommodation for two couples or a couple & two children. They are especially popular with those wishing to introduce grandchildren to boating, with the cruiser stern useful for training in steering!

At 52ft there are very few places on the canal and river system beyond her reach. Propulsion is by a rugged Isuzu 38hp engine with heating from an economical compact diesel boiler. Hot water is heated by engine and boiler and an immersion heater is fitted but not connected to the 230v supply.

Umbrellas has been well maintained throughout the current owners\' 14 years of ownership with regular blacking and engine servicing.

She was last blacked in February 2021 and four new anodes welded to hull. In July 2023 she benefitted from new cabin batteries and a new calorifier.

    *****SCAM WARNING*****

The most common scam is where the seller tells you they will deliver the boat and that your "money is covered by insurance" (there are fake boat dealers out there too).

Always talk to the seller on the phone, If the phone number on the listing doesn’t work or they never pick up then this is another sign it’s a scam.

If the price seems too good to be true then this is usually a scamAnd finally, never ever buy a boat without viewing it or getting someone you know to view it.
