Description THRUM is a 60ft narrowboat built in 1988 by Sliver End Boatbuilders. Fitted to a good standard with a vintage LISTER FR3 in traditional engine room and full replica boatmans cabin. Fitted out with a beautiful wooden panelling throughout. LAYOUT: When boarding THRUM through the half glazed front doors you enter the open plan saloon which has the benefit of AGA log burning stove set in its own hearth to the starboard side and glass tv cabinet to port. the dining pine table and chairs gives an elegant dining area and the galley has a Caprice cooker, electric fridge and stainless steel circular sink set into the post formed laminate worktop with adequate cupboard space. Moving aft the ample shower room has large tiled shower tray and cassette toilet with square ceramic wash basin. the bedroom has fixed double bed with storage under and large wardrobe. Moving further aft s this vessels jewel- the Lister FR3 traditional engine with Lister Blackstone gearbox controlled with speedwell and pull lever control. This is a beautiful boat. Very unique, bespoke and traditional. It was my mums pride and joy. Unfortunately she lost her life a few months ago and therefore this boat requires the love and attention it deserves. It has been a bit neglected over the last year due to said illness and this is reflected in the price. Saying that, the boat is still beautiful and fully functioning. 'We understand the vessel was built by Peter Newman of Derbyshire in 1992 and is of standard steel plate hull construction with a part steel and part timber superstructure in the style of a traditional commissioner’s launch. The accommodation is of a traditional layout using a combination of plywood and tongue and groove panelling, with hardwood trims and joinery throughout and comprises a forward saloon and galley, midships bathroom and aft boatman’s cabin. Visual access to the external superstructure of the vessel was very limited due to it being covered with a tarpaulin for protection, although it can be seen from inside the accommodation that there are some areas of water ingress and timber distortion, which will necessitate some repairs soon to prevent further damage occurring. A 2018 survey report made available to us indicates the steel hull was generally in sound condition, but to ensure this continues to be the case, regular maintenance of the hull needs to be incorporated into the vessels’ schedule.' The boat has a safety certification till 2027 - currently moored on private land, registered and insured.

The Hull was stripped to bare metal in August 2020 Survey carried out. Blacked and new Anodes fitted. Info from previous owner & survey available. I purchased this boat in 2022 and had my own hull survey done. Blacked with epoxy in 2022. 2022 Survey also available. Boat has just had work done for BSS, piping all replaced and feet for engine replaced. Costing £2000. It has a well maintained Lister engine, a new starter battery, gas water heater, 2 solar panels, inverter, and trickle charger that maintains the batteries when hooked up to the mains. wildlife was completely overhauled 4 yrs ago, blacked, and the Hull overplated where necessary, anodes replaced and repainted.
