Birchwood 35 - The Wee £ 45,000.00
Birchwood 35 - The Wee
  • Birchwood 35 - The Wee
  • This version of the Birchwood35 is one of a kind, a truly “go anywhere boat”, not a claim many boats can make, even other Birchwood35’s.
For an impressive looking boat, it will squeeze itself under the lowest of bridges on the uppermost parts of a river. It will also comfortably take you across the Channel should you wish.
Originally registered in Jersey, it has seen the south coast, most of the Dutch waterways, Yarmouth, Norfolk, Thames and now sits on the Medway. People recognise and remember this boat, wherever it goes.
The Wee has been extensively maintained by marine professionals.
She has been lovingly looked after, and she has looked after us.

  • Full of character, The Medway Surveyor is a strong, sturdy, highly seaworthy vessel. She was commissioned by the Medway Ports Authority in 1963 as the new Harbour Launch and is believed to be the very last vessel built by M W Blackmore and Sons in Bideford, Devon. Originally named The Medway Leader, she went on to become the Port’s survey vessel and with her change of role, came a change of name - The Medway Surveyor.

She boasts a double diagonal, teak on oak, wooden hull, which is in very good condition and will serve her well for many decades to come.

Perhaps her greatest assets though are her two x 8 cylinder Gardiner Engines which both run perfectly and are exceedingly economical. She also carries two generators, one of which was installed to power the surveying equipment).

Her spacious wheelhouse boats an array of fully operational electronics including power steering, FA150 Furuno AIS, NX300 Furuno Navtex, Koden Echo sounder, 20-50 Decca Radar, Transponder, compass and windscreen wipers.

Down below there is also plenty of space, including a large galley, two smaller cabin areas and two separate heads.

In addition, she has a manual capstan on her bow anchor - warp and chain, davits and shore power.

Her vital statistics are as follows: Length 19.5m (61’) Width 3.7m (14’), Depth 1.6m (5’3”).

She could be converted to a very comfortable live-aboard or used as a sturdy, reliable work boat or passenger vessel.

Her wheelhouse superstructure leaks and requires replacing or a lot of t.l.c.

She is available to be viewed in the water in Queenborough Creek. More photographs are available.

Contessa 28

  • Veritas is a much loved Contessa 28 in very good working order. Designed by Doug Peterson and built in 1979 by Jeremy Rodgers in Lymington she is comfortable, fast and seaworthy.

She has a recently serviced 3 cylinder Yanmar 3gm30 engine (newer European model) with a complete set of spares ready for the next service. Her 2-bladed folding propeller means there is no drag when sailing and is less likely to foul. There are 2 batteries, two gas bottles and her fuel tank holds 10 gallons. She has new roller furling gear, a new spray hood and a new sail cover. There are two genoa’s, one main (battened with 2 reefing points) and two spinnakers with spinnaker pole. All sails are serviceable.

She is 8.5 metres long, 2.9 metres wide and draws 1.5 metres. She has an encapsulated fin keel with lead ballast. Her mast is deck stepped (mast head sloop) and she has a spade rudder.

Her electronics include a Kelvin vhf radio, an fm radio, 12 volt charging point, Garmin 551 chart plotter, Garmin 128 gps, Raymarine tiller pilot (plus a spare one), depth sounder and 2 bilge pumps. In her self draining anchor locker, there is a cqr anchor with 20 metres of chain and 30 metres of warp.

Down below she has 6 berths (two doubles and 2 singles), a folding table and chart table. She has a Blake’s sea toilet and hand basin with manual faucet, a hanging locke. Her galley boasts a Flavel cooker with 2 gas rings and a grill, a cool box, sink, drainer and manual faucet. There are 2 fire extinguishers and a horseshoe buoy. The flexible water container holds 50 litres.

Veritas has only had 3 owners since new and has been very well looked after. She is used on a regular basis and I am parting with her very reluctantly. She is available to view on a pontooned mud berth in Queenborough.

Bluewater 25 £ 5,500.00
Bluewater 25
  • Bluewater 25
  • Bluebell, previously known as Sweet Pea, is a 1990 Bluewater 25. She is a gaff rigged, traditionally styled, steel cutter, built in 1990 by LSC Yachts. She truly is a ‘proper little ship’ and a real head-turner, capable of exploring the world. Her Hull is 3mm plate and the skeg 5mm sides with a 10mm bottom. Her deck length is 25’, waterline length 21’ and her overall length is 38’. Total sail area 500 sq.ft. She has a beam of 9’10” and a draft of 4’1”. She weighs approximately 4.5 tonnes. Her hull is chine construction, made up of three strakes, all 3mm plate. There are 25mm pipes at the chines and 50mm pipe at the stem.

She has recently been fitted with a brand new Beta engine and also has a brand new propeller, costing the best part of £5,000.

Down below there is warm cosy cabin fitted out in wood with beautiful brass ports and skylight, providing plenty of light. There is spacious accommodation for four people. She has a double cabin foreword, separate heads with sea toilet and hand basin. In the traditional saloon, there are two further berths, a gimballed oven with two rings and a grill, spacious valley area, centre table and chart table.

Her cabin is presently in a very dishevelled state as very sadly, her owner passed away before completing all of the works. She is now being being sold by his family. She needs tidying up and some tlc., and this is reflected in the price that is being asked for her. Upon completion, the world really is your oyster as she has been designed not only to be seaworthy, but also ‘oceanworthy’.

She is available to view out of the water at Gillingham in Kent.
