- Description of boat This Mark 2/3 Heavenly Twins sailing catamaran SALLY was surveyed in 2022 and described as ‘solidly built’ and ‘should give many more years of reliable and safe cruising’. She has been well maintained and is in a ‘ready to go’ condition with all the equipment listed being in good working order. Heavenly Twins are comfortable and safe boats that have done several circumnavigations. SALLY was built by Aquarius Marine in 1978. Length is 8m, breadth 4.2m, depth 0.9m. An early modification to this boat was a very strong boarding and bathing ladder with extension to the rear deck. ENGINE Yamaha 9.9 outboard mounted in cockpit well supplemented with Vetus bow thruster in starboard hull. Both new in 2009. SAILS Main, Genoa, Inner foresail, Storm, and cruising chute in snuffer in vgc (2010). FRONT CABIN Saloon at same level as cockpit with table seating for 6 or queen size bed. Galley is in the port hull. 8 ft long with 2 burner gas hob sink and water tanks. 6ft headroom here as is the chart table and heads in the starboard hull. BACK CABIN Two very comfortable wide berths with reading lights and lockers. This could be converted into two cabins. COCKPIT All sails can be handled from here and crew enjoy the security of being tucked in the centre of the boat rather than perched on the rear. Engine cover doubles as table, lockers for petrol, batteries and ropes. Steering console with engine and bow thruster controls, depth sounder and GPS. EQUIPMENT Garmin 152 GPS, NASA depth sounder, Jabsco toilet, VHF radio 2018, additional VHF radio 2022, lifering, Bruce anchor and 30m chain, 12volt system for lighting etc, mast ladder and bosun’s chair, Autohelm 3000 self steerer, anchor alarm, spare prop for engine, numerous spares, tools, charts etc. SALLY is also sold with the tender which is an Achilles inflatable (3 pers) and Yamaha 2.5hp outboard as well a spare Evinrude 3.5 outboard (hardly used from new in 2020) which is included. SURVEY A copy of the report can be sent on request. MOORING The mooring (costing £1000 p.a.) that SALLY is presently on could be made available to a purchaser. We have owned this boat for 25 years and we hope the new owner will get as much pleasure from her as we have had. A boat of this age will obviously show signs of wear, but a new owner will have scope to renovate.
