20 metre Harbour Patrol Boat
  • 20 metre Harbour Patrol Boat
  • Full of character, The Medway Surveyor is a strong, sturdy, highly seaworthy vessel. She was commissioned by the Medway Ports Authority in 1963 as the new Harbour Launch and is believed to be the very last vessel built by M W Blackmore and Sons in Bideford, Devon. Originally named The Medway Leader, she went on to become the Port’s survey vessel and with her change of role, came a change of name - The Medway Surveyor.

She boasts a double diagonal, teak on oak, wooden hull, which is in very good condition and will serve her well for many decades to come.

Perhaps her greatest assets though are her two x 8 cylinder Gardiner Engines which both run perfectly and are exceedingly economical. She also carries two generators, one of which was installed to power the surveying equipment).

Her spacious wheelhouse boats an array of fully operational electronics including power steering, FA150 Furuno AIS, NX300 Furuno Navtex, Koden Echo sounder, 20-50 Decca Radar, Transponder, compass and windscreen wipers.

Down below there is also plenty of space, including a large galley, two smaller cabin areas and two separate heads.

In addition, she has a manual capstan on her bow anchor - warp and chain, davits and shore power.

Her vital statistics are as follows: Length 19.5m (61’) Width 3.7m (14’), Depth 1.6m (5’3”).

She could be converted to a very comfortable live-aboard or used as a sturdy, reliable work boat or passenger vessel.

Her wheelhouse superstructure leaks and requires replacing or a lot of t.l.c.

She is available to be viewed in the water in Queenborough Creek. More photographs are available.

  • Monkfish is a converted North Sea fishing boat and painstakingly renovated. The result is a boat with some class with her character intact. One of her strengths is her beamy construction as an ex fishing boat which as a recreational vessel, gives you much more open space than most vessels on the market. So, she has 3 double cabins: large, open interior spaces, a walk-around engine room with work bench and expansive deck space.

As an ex fishing boat Monkfish is a solid, stable and reliable boat and her conversion makes her more adaptable than most yachts: She is a perfect liveaboard yacht, she could even be used as a great waterfront apartment. She also travels fantastically as a summer cruiser, so you can really get maximum enjoyment out of Monkfish. She also has a successful history as a charter yacht so you could
easily charter her if wanted. A lot of new equipment and love has gone into her.

“Phoenix” was built by the Marine Division of Saunders Roe, in 1934, as a high speed tender to a 1929, Camper & Nicholson’s 178′ Gentleman’s Motor Yacht, “Vita”, which was built for the aviation pioneer “Tommy” Sopwith.

“Phoenix” was restored and professionally rebuilt in the 1990s, faithfully replicating the methods and quality of the original construction.
